I photographed my very first wedding at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden back in 2015, and it was for one of my all-time favorite couples, Macae and Ron. I still remember that day so clearly. Exploring the grounds for the first time, the hobbit-wall ceremony space tucked into the hillside, the reception tent glowing with twinkle lights, and the incredible landscaping throughout the property. Between the gardens, the lotus pond, and the intentional design of every location, I was completely in love.

Since that first wedding, the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden has become one of our top two most-photographed wedding venues each year. And, honestly, I love it just as much now (if not more) than I did back then.

From a photographer’s perspective, this venue is truly special. It’s beautiful in every season, offering a garden-party feel that’s both elegant and relaxed. Spring brings fresh blooms and soft greens, summer is lush and vibrant, fall offers rich colors and texture, and even winter weddings here feel romantic and timeless. The grounds photograph beautifully from every angle, with endless options for portraits that feel natural and full of life.

Having photographed many weddings at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, I know how to make the most of the property. I know the most ideal portrait locations and understand how to best maximize the light throughout the day. It’s a venue that allows couples to slow down, celebrate fully, and be completely present, and I absolutely love documenting wedding days here.
