Let it Shine Christian Housekeeping | Uniontown | Featured Business Friday

2017-02-08_0001 Hello! It's so great to have you on the blog! I want start by asking you to introduce yourself, what sorts of things do you enjoy doing with your leisure time?

To be honest, I spend a lot of my leisure time working on the not-so-fun aspects of being self-employed. Making sure my schedule is correct, planning numbers, and lots of advertising. I also spend most of my time with my children. I am a single mom of three small children and one dog. :-) we love to go hiking, exploring new trails, and hanging out at the parks. We go to church Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. My kids are also in ballet and karate so we do a lot of running around.

So tell us a little bit about what you do, the services you offer and where your located?
I clean houses. :-) I love my job. I visit the same clients on a regular basis and some I've clean for quite a long time so I know them very 2017-02-08_0004well. I know the things they like, the things they dislike, how they like things done, and most importantly how I can go above and beyond for them. My job is to make it easier for parents to spend time with their children, hard workers to focus on their work, the elderly to have clean homes without the hard work, and dog owners enjoy being home without worrying about dog hair.
Aside from purposes of income, why do you do what you do? What do you enjoy most about your work?
There are two reasons why I chose this career path. The number one reason I chose to do what I do is my children. I have to be able to drop them off at school in the morning and pick them up after school, take them to all their extracurricular activities, be there for them when they're sick or when they need me to participate in school things. Everything I do, I do for my children. The second reason why I chose this work is to bless others. I want to make people's lives easier, do special things for them, and bless them with the valued time with their family that they otherwise miss out on taking care of things around the house. I am not perfect, I make mistakes, I forget things, but I try my absolute best and almost every time I leave a job, I'm very proud of my work. (Although, I always wish I could do more.)
Do you have a mission statement, or to put it more simply, do you have a mission in general when you think about completing your work?
I don't think I technically have a mission statement (yet) but my goal is to enable people to focus more on the important things in life rather than putting work into the house and doing housework and chores and the never-ending stuff around the house. In this day and age, we know it's more important to spend time with family. However, everyone wants their house to look presentable for one company might come over. It's difficult to accomplish both of those successfully. It's difficult to balance those things.

2017-02-08_0008Is there any ways in which your business gives back to the community?
At this time, I donate 10% of profit to local churches or charitable organizations. I would love to have events that would help raise money for people who really need help or even for dogs. But hosting huge events like this and making them successful takes more than just one person. So that will be in the near future.
What is the best way for people to contact you?

Sam & Edwin | Married | Pittsburgh Children's Museum

2016-10-19_0001

Sam and Edwin had me smiling ear to ear all day. From the gorgeous florals and calligraphy strung throughout, to the lively salsa lessons during the reception, there was nothing but joy on the faces of all of their closest friends and family members, and nothing but love between them. I am so excited to share with you their gorgeous wedding at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum in the images below. Enjoy!

Tara & William | Married | Pittsburgh Children's Museum

2016-06-10_0001

Tara and William's wedding day can only be described in one word: FUN. Okay, maybe a few extra words because the wedding was so beautiful, it was an absolutely gorgeous day, and it took place in an incredible venue, but I keep coming back to FUN. From the laughter during the ceremony, to the near-mic-drops during the speeches, to the dancing that was as wild as it was whimsical, we had a smile on our faces the entire day. Slightly dysfunctional, and insanely in love, Tara and Will had a day to remember.

Take a look at some of the most colorful moments of their wedding day below:
